DPRODUCT SHAPE
In addition to the mastery of the hands, wood grain - the solid foundation for every work, is the key factor that creates the timeless beauty of lacquer. The selected core must be the best type, smooth, without cracks or protruding edges. Only when the base is stable enough can the next steps proceed smoothly, helping the finished lacquer product to be smooth, seamless and durable over time.

PHOTOS OF LACQUER PRODUCTION
But no matter how refined the materials are, the shaping stage is always a challenging journey. Not to mention, creating a unique quality for each product requires artisans to put in the effort to understand and grasp the unique characteristics and limitations of each material. Only then can the core contribute to shaping the product while being durable enough to cherish each layer of lacquer, keeping the work able to withstand the harshness of time.
TREATMENT AND REINFORCING
After shaping, the core is reinforced to ensure durability and increase paint adhesion. Just a little carelessness during the implementation process will cause the finished product to crack, crack, break, or even break joints with designs that have many connected parts.
If the outermost layer of paint can still be restored when scratched, on the contrary, most damage related to the core causes the product to be discarded. For that reason, even though it is somewhat boring and dry, each initial step related to the woodwork is decisive - only when cared for from the foundation will the work be durable enough to stand the test of time.
When the woodworking process is completed, the new product is put into the painting and grinding stages. This stage includes many small stages, the repetition of applying paint, waiting for drying, grinding,... the number of times depends on the requirements of each design but ranges from 15 to 20 layers. Each layer of paint, each turn of grinding adds depth, so that the surface becomes smooth and each decorative detail appears vividly.
ACCOMMODATION OF LACQUER
The inner layers will be carefully decorated with appropriate motifs and effects. To do that, La Sonart has constantly experimented and created a rich store of lacquer effects, from simple to complex: mother-of-pearl, mother-of-pearl, egg-lacquered; hand-painted; paste gold and silver leaves; colored orchids; engraved motifs,...
HAND-PAINTED LACQUER
The sophistication of each La Sonart work is created from countless small details. Each motif goes through a meticulous crafting process, where the artist's patience and skill are embedded in every line, bringing unique beauty and artistic depth.
The handcrafted motifs are a space for artisans to be creative and improvise. Thanks to that, even though they follow the same standards, no two products are completely identical.
